Anna manages the day to day operations at BWS and keeps our school up and running! She is in charge of bussing, scheduling, and countless other daily tasks to ensure that our school operates smoothly.

Anna comes to us from a marketing and education background. She obtained a Master’s degree in Education from Hunter College after working in Marketing for Audubon Magazine. Anna was an elementary school teacher before becoming an Operations Manager in 2020. She specializes in database management, event planning, and community building.

Becca comes to BWS from her recent role as Global Community Organizer for a viral climate justice start up, working and organizing in the field of climate activism and policies.

Becca has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and will soon begin an MA program in Secondary Education. Becca has taught summer programs for middle and high school students and loves being part of a school community.

Carissa is our Morning Receptionist at the front desk. She is always a helpful resource to our students and parents/caregivers. More often than not you’ll find her laughing and smiling, ready to answer any question. Carissa also runs her own business as a brand strategist/designer & Creative Director.

Carissa has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and an associate’s degree in Business Administration. She has always been intrigued by the creativity and expression in the Waldorf curriculum, and enjoys seeing that play out on a daily basis.

Carlos Martin joined us at BWS in the role of Facilities Manager in 2023. Carlos brings over 20 years of facilities and project management experience in both non-profit and commercial institutions to BWS. Working in a school environment is a new experience for Carlos and he was immediately struck by the serenity and calm of the classrooms. Carlos has been with us for a little more than a week and it already feels like he has been here for longer. If you pass him in the hallway, please be sure to welcome him to our community.

Casey Griffin has been a valuable member of both the administrative and teaching faculty teams for the past five years! Casey began her journey towards being an educator during college when she double majored in theater and education with particular interest in thinking about the relationship between the roles of teacher and director. Directly before beginning at BWS, Casey finished a masters in Philosophy and Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. In her years at BWS, Casey has served in a myriad of roles, and is currently the eighth grade teacher.

Auxiliary Programs Coordinator

Cayla Berejikian joined BWS in the role of Auxiliary Programs Coordinator—leading our After School program this 2023-2024 school year. Cayla studied psychology and film production at NYU. Since graduating, she has worked at a variety of after school programs and camps around NYC as a supervisor and teaching artist. She is excited to join an educational community that focuses on educating the whole-child and values an arts-integrated curriculum.

Christina Pantazis Blades

Christina has been an integral part of BWS since our very beginnings, in 2006. She has served the school in countless capacities over the years since then, including as Director of Admissions, as a class teacher for months at a time when the need has arisen, as a teacher of Middle School elective weaving and textile arts, and most recently as Administrative Director. She is a trained Elementary School Teacher, holds a B.A. in Education from the Victoria University of Wellington and an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and has completed Waldorf Special Education training through the Sunbridge Institute. Christina lives with her husband, Alex, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, not far from the school.  All three of her sons attended and graduated from BWS.
