Nourishing each child, supporting your family’s needs.
Families accepted to our Early Childhood program will have the opportunity to select and enroll in an Extended Day schedule that fits your needs.
Early Childhood Extended Care and After School Program
- Extended Care program is available from 1:00 p.m.–3:05 p.m. daily for children who attend BWS early childhood classes and who need additional care. Parents can enroll for either three days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) or five days (Monday-Friday).
- After School program is available from 3:05 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Parents can choose one, two, three, four or all five days.
After having lunch and cleaning up, the lead teachers lovingly transition the children to the Extended Care teachers and the children are brought together into the side yard. Children have an opportunity for socialization and are able to make new friends from different classes. The afternoon rhythm also provides time to wind down after a busy day at school.
The Extended Care teachers then bring the children to their classrooms and prepare the children for rest through either music and/or story. After rest time, the children have quiet play in the classroom, a small simple snack, such as apple slices, then dismissal. The older children in Extended Care may experience either indoor or outdoor play, crafts, art projects and imaginative building.
The After School teacher will transition those students staying to a new classroom where the children can settle in a home-like environment. There may be more outdoor play, story time, crafts, and the children are pleased with another small snack. The teachers and children create a very pleasant and simple setting that allows for the children to joyfully play and just comfortably be for the remainder of the day.
Tuition is based on the number of days enrolled per week and is adjusted to reflect the family’s level of tuition and tuition assistance.
