About This Web Site

The Brooklyn Waldorf School mosaic banner at the top of these pages was designed by taking small digital samples from the watercolor artworks of students at the school. These digital ‘tiles’ were then used to create all of the frame, background, and lettering in the banner. While referencing the mosaics found in New York City subways, the design brings together pieces from hand-made works of our students with imagery of dragonflies — insects with a singular method of flight that can be seen in spring inhabiting our local parks, yards, and waterways.

This Web site is the result of an effort that has brought together the talents and hard work of many parents, administrators, faculty, board members, and members of our extended community.

This Web site was designed and developed by Marc Lepson and Bob Maynard. Photography and design collaboration was done by Erika deVries.
Val Mello provided immeasurable administrative and content guidance. Stephan Schaefer (board president) and Diana Lyon (Early Childhood teacher) were also part of the core Web site team.

Thanks also go out to: Teachers Nina Saltzman for program descriptions, and Mark Dufault for proofreading; Waldorf alum Dmitri Laury for coding html templates; Christina Pantazis-Blades for admissions content; all of the parents, faculty, and board members that have put their energy into bringing this version of the Web site into being.

Additional photographs and content have also been provided by:
Tamara Schlesinger, Shoshana Perry, Yuko Magoshi, Sheila Moss, Erika Habarta, and Sono Kuwayama.
