The Brooklyn Waldorf School seeks a talented Fifth Grade Class Teacher 2013-2014.
Now in its eighth year, The Brooklyn Waldorf School is in a period of sustained growth and expansion. The current 2012-2013 school year is our second at our new permanent location, a historic property known as Claver Castle, where we offer the full Waldorf curriculum complete with gym, theater and outdoor space.
We have an ambitious agenda for the coming years that will enable us to offer an extraordinary Waldorf education in an intensely urban environment. We are looking for a fully-trained Class Teacher with a strong sense of self and a great love for children. The ideal candidate has teaching experience, is well-grounded in the arts, seeks a collaborative professional environment, and is excited by the demands and opportunities of an urban school at the cutting edge of the Waldorf movement.
We offer programs for Parent-Child, Nursery, Kindergarten, Grades 1-8, Home-schooling, and After-school, as well as Foundation Studies. The lower school program is enriched by special subject teachers in music, eurythmy, handwork, games, woodwork, orchestra, chorus, Spanish, and Chinese. Our mission is to bring Waldorf education to the Brooklyn community and to reflect the cultural, racial, and socio-economic diversity of Brooklyn in our community.The Brooklyn School is a developing member of AWSNA and full WECAN member. We are located in the amazing cultural mecca of Brooklyn, New York and has gained tremendous momentum and attracted great interest and support from the surrounding community.
